Chocolate Cake for One

Hello everyone! I was in the mood for some baking on Saturday and decided that I would test out a new recipe. The recipe I chose was a German chocolate cake that was a single serving, which means no leftovers or hiding the cake from my family lol. However, I changed the recipe up a bit (for convenience) and it became more of just a chocolate cake. Here’s what you’ll need.

Cake:

-1 tablespoon + 2 tsp cocoa powder (8g)
-3 tablespoons flour
-1/8 tsp salt
-1 tablespoon + 2 tsp sugar
-1/4 tsp baking powder
-2-3 tsp coconut oil
-3 tablespoons milk of choice
-1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract

Glaze:

-1/4 cup plus 3 tablespoons water
-1/4 tsp salt
-1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract
-2 tsp maple syrup
-2 tablespoons powdered sugar

First, preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. In a bowl mix together all of the dry ingredients (cocoa, flour, salt, sugar, and baking powder) needed for the cake using a whisk (or whatever you have to mix with). Add in all the wet ingredients (oil, milk, and vanilla) and mix completely. Split your mix evenly between two small ramekins and bake for 13-14 minutes or until they look done. You could also put all the batter into one ramekin and just bake it for a little bit longer, which if I had read the recipe beforehand and realized I wouldn’t be making frosting that’s what I would have done.

For the glaze all you need to do is mix everything in a bowl and pour over your finished cake. Even if it isn’t the frosting I would have made, if I wasn’t a dummy, it’s still good. I also added a smiley face using cookie icing just for an extra touch.

I hope you guys liked this recipe! If you want the original recipe you can read it here (hello fellow blogger :D). I also made a video to go along with this recipe which you can watch here. Keep watching my blog because more nail designs are coming soon. BYYEEE

Miracle Gel “Greyfitti” Review

Hello everyone! Today I have a review for one of my newer polishes by Sally Hansen called “Greyfitti” (#260). So, keep reading to see what I think!  The first thing I have to say is that this polish took 3 coats to get this opacity. That was a little bit annoying, but it didn’t take too long to dry and this color is very pretty. I guess if you needed a really transparent grey color for any type of nail design that this polish could be considered multifunctional.  Also, this color reminds me of Candie’s “Concrete Jungle”, which I’ve done reviews on before, except it's a bit of a lighter shade of grey. I may like Candie’s a bit better… no offense to Sally Hansen lol. This polish is great and you know that I love Sally Hansen products, but I prefer the other one a bit more. Overall, I’d say that this polish deserves 4 out of 5 stars. I like the color and it dries quickly. So far it has lasted with no chips (even though I haven’t had it on for that long so I’...

L.A. Colors Color Last - First Impressions

Hey everybody! So I was walking around my local Walmart about 2 weeks ago and I came across a new display of nail polish for L.A. Colors Color Last nail polish. The polishes went for 2 dollars (I think anyway they were pretty cheap) and they claimed to last up to 10 days with the top coat. I decided I’d test that out because why not buy more nail polish that will inevitably dry out and be wasted, whatever. So that is what this blog post is for; I’ll be giving you my first impressions of both the actual polish and the top coat itself.  The color I chose is called “Friendship” and it’s a neutral purple color with slight pink tones. It also has this weird glitter that you can only see when it’s wet or if you have eagle eyes. Anyway, it is a nice color (I used 2 coats) but I had a few problems with application. This particular polish did NOT go on smoothly at all and it looked really rough on its own. I contemplated testing the polish without the top coat on one hand for a ...

DIY: Pumpkin Spiced Latte

Hey everyone! So, like the basic white girl I am, I love pumpkin spiced lattes. However, buying them every day can really drain your bank account (or in this case my allowance hehe). Today I have decided to teach you how to make an easy, quick pumpkin spiced latte. Naturally, I found this recipe from Pinterest, but I tweaked it a bit. Here’s what you’ll need: ¾ cup milk (I used 2% because that’s what was in the fridge) 2 tsp. white granulated sugar 2 tbsp. pumpkin puree ¼ tsp. vanilla extract A palm full of pumpkin spice ½ cup hot coffee Whip cream (for an extra touch, but it’s optional) Start off with combining your milk, sugar, pumpkin, vanilla, and pumpkin spice. You’ll want to blend this mixture until it is frothy. I used a hand mixer, but you can use a blender if you want. Next, you want to heat up the pumpkin mixture you just made. The original recipe said to heat it in a sauce pan, which I did the first time, but I was too lazy this time an...
