L.A. Colors Color Last - First Impressions

Hey everybody! So I was walking around my local Walmart about 2 weeks ago and I came across a new display of nail polish for L.A. Colors Color Last nail polish. The polishes went for 2 dollars (I think anyway they were pretty cheap) and they claimed to last up to 10 days with the top coat. I decided I’d test that out because why not buy more nail polish that will inevitably dry out and be wasted, whatever. So that is what this blog post is for; I’ll be giving you my first impressions of both the actual polish and the top coat itself.

The color I chose is called “Friendship” and it’s a neutral purple color with slight pink tones. It also has this weird glitter that you can only see when it’s wet or if you have eagle eyes. Anyway, it is a nice color (I used 2 coats) but I had a few problems with application. This particular polish did NOT go on smoothly at all and it looked really rough on its own. I contemplated testing the polish without the top coat on one hand for a better test but it was too ugly and I couldn’t take it. I think the glitter makes it look really weird idk I’m just not a fan of it. However, I did get compliments on the color a couple times; it was just when I initially put it on that the polish was not that great. It also did that thing where when you apply the first coat it kind of separates as it dries. You’ll understand if you’ve had polish like that before, but it’s quite frustrating.

After the polish dried, which was quite quickly actually, it was time to apply the top coat. First of all, immediately as I was opening the bottle it broke. The brush part was not properly glued to the lid so it just came off which was disappointing to say the least. When I managed to get it open the first thing I noticed was the smell. Now I know that most nail polish smells strongly of chemicals, especially the mock gel polishes, but this smelt toxic. It was so so strong, almost unbearable. I could only imagine how my mom would have reacted because she complains about the nail polish smell, which I have become almost immune to, but this was 50 times worse. Yet I applied it anyway and it dried quickly, so that was done.

I applied this polish on the 21st of May and now, 10 days later, on the 31st I have to say it worked well. The polish says it will last up to 10 days and it did just that. There was no chipping, just a tiny bit of wear on the tips on my nails, but barely noticeable. Even after all the weird issues I can’t help but be curious about the other colors and since they’re quite cheap I may do that one day. However, what really puts me off the most is the smell of the top coat which completely changes my answer. I can’t imagine the ingredients in that thing I wouldn’t buy that again; I’ll stick with my normal top coat.

TLDR: The polish went on a bit weird and the smell was awful, but it stayed on for the full 10 days with no problems and it was really cheap. If you want to try it out, go for it because it’s a cheaper alternative to polishes like Sally Hansen’s Miracle Gel and stuff like that. Just wear a face mask or something lol. If you liked this review then… that’s great ha. Come back soon I guess. Who knows when I’ll post again I don’t have a schedule anymore. See you whenever.

P.S. I had a lot of fun at TATINOF and it was, by far, the best day of my entire life. I decided not to do a separate blog post though because I don’t want to spoil any parts of the show. Dan and Phil were really sweet and it was a fun experience. The show was creative and funny and it was just super fun. If you like them and ever get the chance to go to their tour, I totally recommend.

Miracle Gel “Greyfitti” Review

Hello everyone! Today I have a review for one of my newer polishes by Sally Hansen called “Greyfitti” (#260). So, keep reading to see what I think!  The first thing I have to say is that this polish took 3 coats to get this opacity. That was a little bit annoying, but it didn’t take too long to dry and this color is very pretty. I guess if you needed a really transparent grey color for any type of nail design that this polish could be considered multifunctional.  Also, this color reminds me of Candie’s “Concrete Jungle”, which I’ve done reviews on before, except it's a bit of a lighter shade of grey. I may like Candie’s a bit better… no offense to Sally Hansen lol. This polish is great and you know that I love Sally Hansen products, but I prefer the other one a bit more. Overall, I’d say that this polish deserves 4 out of 5 stars. I like the color and it dries quickly. So far it has lasted with no chips (even though I haven’t had it on for that long so I’...

DIY: Pumpkin Spiced Latte

Hey everyone! So, like the basic white girl I am, I love pumpkin spiced lattes. However, buying them every day can really drain your bank account (or in this case my allowance hehe). Today I have decided to teach you how to make an easy, quick pumpkin spiced latte. Naturally, I found this recipe from Pinterest, but I tweaked it a bit. Here’s what you’ll need: ¾ cup milk (I used 2% because that’s what was in the fridge) 2 tsp. white granulated sugar 2 tbsp. pumpkin puree ¼ tsp. vanilla extract A palm full of pumpkin spice ½ cup hot coffee Whip cream (for an extra touch, but it’s optional) Start off with combining your milk, sugar, pumpkin, vanilla, and pumpkin spice. You’ll want to blend this mixture until it is frothy. I used a hand mixer, but you can use a blender if you want. Next, you want to heat up the pumpkin mixture you just made. The original recipe said to heat it in a sauce pan, which I did the first time, but I was too lazy this time an...
