L.A. Colors Color Last - First Impressions

Hey everybody! So I was walking around my local Walmart about 2 weeks ago and I came across a new display of nail polish for L.A. Colors Color Last nail polish. The polishes went for 2 dollars (I think anyway they were pretty cheap) and they claimed to last up to 10 days with the top coat. I decided I’d test that out because why not buy more nail polish that will inevitably dry out and be wasted, whatever. So that is what this blog post is for; I’ll be giving you my first impressions of both the actual polish and the top coat itself.

The color I chose is called “Friendship” and it’s a neutral purple color with slight pink tones. It also has this weird glitter that you can only see when it’s wet or if you have eagle eyes. Anyway, it is a nice color (I used 2 coats) but I had a few problems with application. This particular polish did NOT go on smoothly at all and it looked really rough on its own. I contemplated testing the polish without the top coat on one hand for a better test but it was too ugly and I couldn’t take it. I think the glitter makes it look really weird idk I’m just not a fan of it. However, I did get compliments on the color a couple times; it was just when I initially put it on that the polish was not that great. It also did that thing where when you apply the first coat it kind of separates as it dries. You’ll understand if you’ve had polish like that before, but it’s quite frustrating.

After the polish dried, which was quite quickly actually, it was time to apply the top coat. First of all, immediately as I was opening the bottle it broke. The brush part was not properly glued to the lid so it just came off which was disappointing to say the least. When I managed to get it open the first thing I noticed was the smell. Now I know that most nail polish smells strongly of chemicals, especially the mock gel polishes, but this smelt toxic. It was so so strong, almost unbearable. I could only imagine how my mom would have reacted because she complains about the nail polish smell, which I have become almost immune to, but this was 50 times worse. Yet I applied it anyway and it dried quickly, so that was done.

I applied this polish on the 21st of May and now, 10 days later, on the 31st I have to say it worked well. The polish says it will last up to 10 days and it did just that. There was no chipping, just a tiny bit of wear on the tips on my nails, but barely noticeable. Even after all the weird issues I can’t help but be curious about the other colors and since they’re quite cheap I may do that one day. However, what really puts me off the most is the smell of the top coat which completely changes my answer. I can’t imagine the ingredients in that thing I wouldn’t buy that again; I’ll stick with my normal top coat.

TLDR: The polish went on a bit weird and the smell was awful, but it stayed on for the full 10 days with no problems and it was really cheap. If you want to try it out, go for it because it’s a cheaper alternative to polishes like Sally Hansen’s Miracle Gel and stuff like that. Just wear a face mask or something lol. If you liked this review then… that’s great ha. Come back soon I guess. Who knows when I’ll post again I don’t have a schedule anymore. See you whenever.

P.S. I had a lot of fun at TATINOF and it was, by far, the best day of my entire life. I decided not to do a separate blog post though because I don’t want to spoil any parts of the show. Dan and Phil were really sweet and it was a fun experience. The show was creative and funny and it was just super fun. If you like them and ever get the chance to go to their tour, I totally recommend.

Miracle Gel "Game of Chromes" Review

Hello everyone! I recently purchased another nail polish from Sally Hansen’s Miracle Gel collection called “Game of Chromes” (#510) and I thought I’d write a review for it today. Frist of all, the name is genius. Secondly, lol, the color is gorgeous. It is really shiny and when you move your fingers under the light it kind of looks like it switches between silver and gold, like a hologram or something. It is just a really nice color if you are looking for a solid nail design that isn't super boring. I also really liked the formula of the polish. It went on very smoothly (just like the others from the line did) and it was opaque with one coat. When I used the top coat (which you have to buy separately unless you get a kit and it’s expensive but whatever), it lasted a long time with no chips. It still isn’t chipped and I could keep it on, but I redo my nails every week lol. That is all for today, but you can check out my most recent YouTube video here, or look through...

Ombre, Lily Manicure

Hey guys! I know it's been a while, but I have had ZERO clue of what designs to do and I've been doing solid colors all summer. However, last night I decided to practice making my own nail stickers and they turned out super well. I went with two types of lilies, white lilies and purple/white lilies, and decided to put them on a two-toned ombre. For the "stickers" I started with a piece of parchment paper and a clear polish. With the polish I painted 10 rectangles which I would be painting my designs over. I ended up trimming my stickers down to size later so don't worry if the base is a bit too big. After about a minute I began painting my designs over top of the rectangles making sure they weren't too big for my nail beds. I looked at a picture of a lily for reference and then just went for it. I started with the white petals, added the center color, added thin green lines with a nail art brush for stems in the center and finally the brown dots on the ste...
