Thanksgiving Nails

Hello everyone! Today is Thanksgiving and I figured I should do a festive nail design since I skipped the whole month of November on my blog last year. I decided to go for the classic turkey.

The colors I used were Sally Hansen’s Insta-Dri shades in “Sand Storm” (#113) and “Lightening” (#280), Triple Shine shade in “Taheati” (#620), Xtreme Wear shades in “White On” (#300) and “Black Out” (#28), Essie “Mink Muffs” (#624), and a random Markwins International polish I stole from my mom’s bathroom because I couldn’t find my red polish anywhere.

I started with the tan base color on all my nails. For the thumb I took dark brown to make the turkey’s body using a nail art brush. The body is just a semi-circle with a small circle above it. I then used a dotter to add two white circles for eyes and a smaller dotter for the black pupils. I used a thin nail art brush for the orange beak. The multi-colored feathers where added behind the turkey’s body to represent its tail.

For the rest of my nails I added feather shapes, 2 on each nail except for the pinky. I thought this would be cool because it creates the illusion that the turkey feathers have shredded (is that the word you would use) and are flying off of him. It’s not perfect, mostly because I was holding my hand in the air instead of resting it on a table, but it’s still pretty cute.

Thanks for reading my blogpost and I hope you have a great Thanksgiving spent with family and friends. Make sure you keep checking my blog because Christmas tutorials are coming soon. BYYEEE

Miracle Gel “Greyfitti” Review

Hello everyone! Today I have a review for one of my newer polishes by Sally Hansen called “Greyfitti” (#260). So, keep reading to see what I think!  The first thing I have to say is that this polish took 3 coats to get this opacity. That was a little bit annoying, but it didn’t take too long to dry and this color is very pretty. I guess if you needed a really transparent grey color for any type of nail design that this polish could be considered multifunctional.  Also, this color reminds me of Candie’s “Concrete Jungle”, which I’ve done reviews on before, except it's a bit of a lighter shade of grey. I may like Candie’s a bit better… no offense to Sally Hansen lol. This polish is great and you know that I love Sally Hansen products, but I prefer the other one a bit more. Overall, I’d say that this polish deserves 4 out of 5 stars. I like the color and it dries quickly. So far it has lasted with no chips (even though I haven’t had it on for that long so I’...

L.A. Colors Color Last - First Impressions

Hey everybody! So I was walking around my local Walmart about 2 weeks ago and I came across a new display of nail polish for L.A. Colors Color Last nail polish. The polishes went for 2 dollars (I think anyway they were pretty cheap) and they claimed to last up to 10 days with the top coat. I decided I’d test that out because why not buy more nail polish that will inevitably dry out and be wasted, whatever. So that is what this blog post is for; I’ll be giving you my first impressions of both the actual polish and the top coat itself.  The color I chose is called “Friendship” and it’s a neutral purple color with slight pink tones. It also has this weird glitter that you can only see when it’s wet or if you have eagle eyes. Anyway, it is a nice color (I used 2 coats) but I had a few problems with application. This particular polish did NOT go on smoothly at all and it looked really rough on its own. I contemplated testing the polish without the top coat on one hand for a ...

Suncoat Natural Nail Polish Remover First Impression

Hello everyone! Today I have a review for Suncoat’s Natural Nail Polish Remover. My mom recently purchased this online at Amazon, which at the moment is $5.68 for 60ml. It is a corn and soya based nail polish remover with only 4 ingredients, which is significantly healthier than regular polish remover. It comes in either a 30ml or 60ml glass bottle (1oz or 2oz) which is better than plastic because the chemicals in plastic bottles will soak into the remover as well, and that’s bad for you. The directions say to put it on your nails with a Q tip or cotton ball, let soak, and rub off until the polish is removed; basically, it works just like normal removers. I had my mom test it on the 4 th of July nail design and the new glitter polish I got (I test my designs on her first ok) and she gave me a review. She said that it was very very oily, but it is oil so that’s what you’d expect. It took longer to remove than what it would for normal polish remover, but it worked just as well....
