Finger Paints “Masterpiece of Minimalism” Review

Hello everyone! Today I have a swatch for you of one of the new polishes in my collection. This polish is by Finger Paints in the shade “Masterpiece of Minimalism” (#806145). This is a really lovely polish, so stick around and I’ll tell you why. There are certain components that I look for in a nail polish, the first being color. This polish is a neutral purple that has sort of a greyish undertone to it. In the light it just looks like a very lovely purple, but in dull lighting it looks very dark and a greyish-brown. I actually really love this color and if you are a big fan of neutral shades you will definitely like it. The next things I look for are brush size and polish consistency. The brush is a decent thickness making it easy to spread the polish on your nail without it getting all over your fingers. The polish itself is a really nice formula and it glides on smoothly. There were no bubbles in the polish after it dried, which is always a plus.  Finally, I look for

Leopard Nails

Hello everyone! I decided to use some of my new polishes to create a leopard design, which I have wanted to try for a long time. Since most of the newer polishes I received are neutral browns/golds I thought it would be the perfect opportunity. Here’s what you’ll need. The polishes I used were the Orly shades “Buried Treasure” (#20181) and “Sea Gurl” (#20748), and Finger Paint shades “You’re Kiln Me” (#806504) and “Abstract Attraction” (#806862). I also used Sally Hansen’s No Chip Top Coat and a gold stud from SHANY's Nail Art Decoration Kit. I started with my gold base, which required two coats. Next, I used “Sea Gurl” to dot on a few… blobs, they’re just blobs lol, onto my nail. Basically, it just looks like a leopard spots (that’s the point). Next, I used my darker brown color to outline the blobs and define the spots; I added a bit of glitter to bring them out even more. Finally, I put a dab of clear polish on my ring finger and added a gold stud (completely optional

Hello everyone! Sorry there was no blog post on Sunday; I was planning on doing a birthday vlog, but I fell deathly ill a couple days before and still felt crap the day of, so I just didn’t film. Either way, I filmed this video for you which is my January/February favorites. All the stuff mentioned in the video will be listed below. I’ll have a nail design for you on Sunday so don’t worry. Cupid’s Bow & Arrow Nails

Hello everyone! For my last Valentine's design I decided to stop stealing ideas off of my Pinterest board and try to come up with something on my own. I haven’t seen a design like this yet (that doesn’t mean there isn’t one though), so I’d like to present you with Cupid’s bow and arrow nails! The colors I used for this design were Sally Hansen’s Insta-Dri shades in “Pink Blink” (#205) and “Rapid Red” (#280), and Essie’s “Mink Muffs” (#624).   I also used a nail art brush and a nail dotter. To start off I painted my nails with “Pink Blink”. The color is beautiful, but since the polish is so old it took 3 coats lol; I need to buy a new one. I did a review of this polish last February which you can view here (I sucked at reviews back then gosh). Anyway, using my medium brown polish I painted a bow on my thumb nail. Make sure you paint it in the direction I did that way it will be aimed the right way. Using a skinny nail art brush I then painted an arrow across 3 of my nail

Neutral Polka Dot Nails

Hello everyone! The third Valentine’s Day design I have for you is quite simple, yet appropriate for the occasion; it's a neutral, polka dot mani with a cute little accent heart. I had originally planned to do a French tip, but my thumb nail finally gave up and broke, so I had to change things up. The colors I used for this design were Essie’s “Eternal Optimist” (#144) and “Licorice” (#720). I also used a small nail dotter. I started off with Eternal Optimist, which is a really nice mauve pink. I haven’t used this color in a while, but I really do love it. It's actually one of the first colors I remember posting about on Instagram before I ruined it with badly drawn lines that I didn't have nail art brushes for lol. Anyway, using my nail dotter, I made four columns of black polka dots. I basically dotted in straight lines until the nail was filled. On my ring finger I dotted on a small heart before adding the polka dots. Finish it off with a clear coat and you have

Heart Nails

Hello everyone! For Valentine’s Day tutorial #2 I took inspiration from Pinterest to create a simple heart nail design. This one is ultra simple and quick, but it’s so adorable.   Here’s what you’ll need. The colors I used were Sally Hansen’s Miracle Gel polish in the shade “Pink Tank” (#220), Essie “Good as Gold” (#941), and Essie “Rock at the Top” (#962). I also used a nail dotter from Bundle Monster.  To start off, I painted all my nails using my pink polish and let it dry. Next, I used the Miracle Gel top coat to seal the polish and make it last an extra long time. Using a nail dotter I dotted a small heart by the cuticle of all my nails. Finally, I added the gold glitter to the hearts for an extra touch. I hope you all like this design! I’d like to comment that, yes, my nail is broken and I explained how that happened in my latest video which you can view here . The video includes the tutorial for this design as well as some updates. Also, I updated my nail polish i
